SanRex — FDS100BA60 Fast-Recovery Diode Power Module 600 V • 100 A Per Device • Dual Fast-Recovery Diodes • trr ≤ 100 ns • 2500 V RMS Isolated Mounting Base
What It Is

The SanRex FDS100BA60 is a high-speed 600 V, 100 A-per-device dual fast-recovery diode module designed for demanding high-frequency power-switching applications. Its low reverse-recovery time, high surge-current capability, and isolated mounting construction make it well suited for switching power supplies, inverter welding systems, telecommunications power equipment, and other high-power converter circuits.

With a maximum reverse-recovery time of only 100 ns, the FDS100BA60 is engineered to reduce switching losses and improve efficiency in applications where conventional rectifier diodes may recover too slowly. The electrically isolated mounting base simplifies heatsink integration while maintaining electrical separation from the cooling surface.

Why Fast Recovery Matters

In high-frequency switching systems, a diode must stop conducting quickly when its polarity reverses. Slow recovery creates additional switching losses, heating, and electrical stress on nearby switching devices. The FDS100BA60’s ≤100 ns reverse-recovery time makes it much better suited to inverter and switch-mode applications than a conventional line-frequency rectifier diode.

Compatibility / Representative Uses
Module Applications Replacement Notes
FDS100BA60 Switch-mode power supplies, inverter welding power supplies, telecommunications power equipment, high-frequency rectifiers, UPS inverter circuits, and industrial power converters Verify reverse-voltage rating, current rating, recovery characteristics, terminal layout, mounting footprint, heatsink requirements, and original equipment specifications before substitution.
Replacement Note: A conventional rectifier diode is not automatically interchangeable with a fast-recovery diode. Match the voltage, current, reverse-recovery time, terminal configuration, thermal requirements, and mechanical footprint before installation.
