The Tesla MCI-2 High Current Mid-Circuit Interrupter (1879359-15-B) forms part of the solar rapid-shutdown system in compatible Tesla installations, including Powerwall 3. It installs inline within the photovoltaic array’s DC wiring.

A qualified installer must verify connector compatibility, PV string ratings, and the required MCI quantity and placement using Tesla’s applicable installation instructions and certified array configuration. Tesla permits a maximum of five MCIs per string. MCI-2 devices must not be plugged directly into one another.
